Info on Souvenir Ruby Stained Glass. For for the most part, this ruby glass was produced in Pittsburgh, Pa., over a 10-year period, beginning in 1880.

It was created by applying a ruby red stain during the cooling process. The hot, clear glass was pressed into a mold and the ruby red stain added.

The more popular patterns: Button Arches, Almond Thumbprint, and Heart Band.

These souvenir items were sold at fairs and expositions and were personalized to commemorate a name, place, date or event.
